Physical theatre heads to Cheshire

Happy Hour New promo imageFollowing a successful opening run in Autumn 2016, a new show from Liverpool based Physical Theatre company Tmesis Theatre continues on the road and heads to two venues in Cheshire.

Happy Hour is the latest offering from Tmesis Theatre which combines its trademark physicality with humour, music, and text from long-term collaborator Chris Fittock, to create a poignant, fast paced, comedy exploring our 21st Century obsession with happiness and success.

The new show follows a successful national tour for Tmesis in 2015 of That’s Amore, which won critical acclaim from The Guardian, describing it as ‘Like a Richard Curtis romcom reworked by DV8, glorious and full of heart’.

Happy Hour will run for one night only at Vanburgh Theatre in Chester on 27 January and Memorial Court in Northwich on 16 February, before continuing its national tour.

Over the past 10 years, Tmesis Theatre has developed a national and international reputation, receiving critical acclaim for their unique style of movement-based theatre as a company who create work that is accessible, engaging, entertaining and of the highest quality.

Elinor Randle, Artistic Director at Tmesis Theatre said: “I’m really excited about this new piece, the characters are hilarious and we are exploring some really interesting ideas about the darker side of the ‘Happiness Industry’ in a really playful and energetic way. It’s exciting to move towards more narrative and comedy, whilst still maintaining Tmesis’ trademark physicality. Expect a uniquely ‘happy’ hour!”
