Cheshire’ residents are being invited to one of the county’s hidden gems, The Bells of Peover pub, for complimentary festive treats to mark to the official switch-on of the  venue’s Christmas Lights display on Friday, 29 November.

To help visitors embrace the festive spirit on the night of the stunning illumination, staff at the Lower Peover’s pub will be serving mince pies, roasted chestnuts free-of-charge.

With the traditional countdown to the village pub’s lights switch-on set for 5pm and a feast of Christmas food provided, the event promises to be a great festive community celebration.

The highly-acclaimed venue will also be offering its legendary warming mulled wine for visitors to purchase.

The celebration evening also coincides with the launch of the highly commended venue’s exquisite Christmas menu, served from 29 November to 31 December.

General Manager at The Bells of Peover, André Sievers explains: “We’re extremely proud of The Bell’s wonderfully rich heritage and with so many great events planned next year to mark the 60th anniversary of the date that the American General Eisenhower and General Patton made their famous plans for the D-Day invasion of Normandy over lunch here, we felt that Christmas holidays would be the perfect time to start to share our celebrations with our wonderfully supportive local community.

“I know the team has been really impressed with the Christmas Lights around the pub’s stunning grounds this year, and we’re very proud to invite the local community to join us for this celebration. In the spirit of giving, I hope everyone will come along and enjoy our assortment of complimentary festive treats.

“In addition to the stunning lights outside, each of our rooms will be especially elegantly decorated and awash with festive spirit.”

The venue’s  Christmas menu features favourites such as locally sourced specialties spiced parsnip soup and roast Cheshire turkey and is completed by an array of tantalising deserts such as the old-age favourite, Christmas Pudding.
