Neston Library will host a new murder-mystery evening written by Ann Cleeves on Wednesday 4 November 2026.

A Day in the Death of Dorothea Cassidy gives audiences a role in examining the suspects’ accounts and deciding who is responsible. The council describes it as the world debut of a new event written especially for Cheshire West and Chester Libraries, drawing on Cleeves’s 1992 Inspector Ramsay novel.

At a glance: Neston Library, Wednesday 4 November 2026, 7pm. Tickets are listed at £10. Booking is required.

The evening forms part of the library service’s programme accompanying Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery. Visitors will listen to suspects, consider their motives and make an accusation.

The listing also confirms a cash-only bar and book sales by the Curious Cat Bookshop.

Is Ann Cleeves appearing in person?

The council credits Cleeves as the writer. Its listing does not advertise a personal appearance by the author.
