Donald McIntyre is noted for his landscapes and coastal scenes which are painted in vivid colours. He was born in Leeds and attended Scarborough College and Skipton Grammar School. He studied art with James Wright and developed a style in the Scottish Colourist tradition. He has had a long series of solo exhibitions. Galleries in Birkenhead, Newport, Merthyr Tydfil, and Southport hold his work. He lived Tregarth near Bangor, Gwynedd and died in 2009.
