Nantwich Town will help Nantwich Cricket Club celebrate their historic Chapel Press Cheshire County League Premier Division championship win tomorrow night ahead of the game against AFC Flyde.

Nantwich CC’s title is their third in a row and it is the first time in the modern era that the club has achieved a hat-trick of championships. The club sealed the championship on Saturday when they defeated Toft by 46 runs.

Team captain Andy Newton, who will parade the Premier Division trophy with the players before kick-off, said: “It’s been a fantastic team effort and the lads have all pulled together.”

Chairman Rob Sproston added: “I’m really delighted for all the players. We started the season in relegation form but the team have ended on a high and it’s a great achievement.

Nantwich Town chairman Jon Gold commented: “It’s terrific for the town of Nantwich for the cricket club to achieve such success. Everyone at the football club sends their congratulations to Rob, Andy and all the team on their remarkable achievement. We look forward to welcoming them to the Weaver Stadium on Tuesday evening.”

The match against AFC Flyde will kick off at 7.45pm.
