A Shawn Myers-inspired Cheshire Phoenix booked their place in the last eight of the BBL Trophy with a thrilling 92-88 win over London Lions on 28 December.
The American veteran, who is the oldest player in the BBL, returned to haunt his former club with 23 points and 13 rebounds to set up a quarter final clash with either Mersey Tigers or Worthing Thunder.
Myers’s performance earned him a spot in the last BBL Team of the Week of 2012.
However, Phoenix ended the year with a defeat, going down 78-95 at Glasgow Rocks in the BBL Championship.
Three other teams have already booked their places in the BBL Trophy quarter-finals: Newcastle Eagles, Worcester Wolves and Leicester Riders.
