Tatton Park’s Halloween programme gives families a choice between a garden trail and bookable activities at the Old Hall this October half-term. The Knutsford estate’s Skellies and Wellies trail runs from 24 October to 1 November 2026, but the gardens are closed on Monday 26 October.

Visitors should check the admission arrangements for the activity they choose. Garden entry, farm entry and the Old Hall sessions have different charges, and vehicle entry is not included in every ticket.

Skellies and Wellies in the gardens

The garden trail has eight skeleton displays to find across the grounds. It is covered by standard garden admission, with the usual parkland vehicle charge applying separately.

For the period ending 1 November, Tatton’s published prices are £11 per adult and £9 per child aged four to 15 for a single attraction, either the gardens or farm. A family ticket covering two adults and up to three children costs £30.

Vehicle entry costs £10 on weekdays and £11 at weekends. A family using the £30 garden ticket and arriving in one car would therefore pay £40 on an open weekday or £41 at the weekend. Those totals exclude food and other activities.

Myth, Magic and Mystery at the Old Hall

The Old Hall sessions combine a seasonal picture hunt, wand making, potion activities and a ghost story. They are aimed at children aged seven to 11 and last 90 minutes.

Tickets are £15 per person and include vehicle parkland entry. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult, and the listing says everyone needs a ticket. One child and one accompanying adult would therefore cost £30. Places must be booked in advance.

Part of the session takes place outdoors and part inside an unheated historic building, so warm clothing and suitable footwear are sensible.

Pumpkins and access arrangements

Tatton also lists its farm pumpkin patch on selected dates through 31 October. Pumpkins start at £2, paid on the day, in addition to farm and parkland admission. Check the remaining dates when booking; it is not advertised as a daily activity.

The estate’s access information describes compacted-gravel routes and step-free access to most garden areas, with steps in the formal and rose gardens. The Old Hall has grass on its approach, steep stairs to the upper floor and low lighting in places. Discuss the Halloween session’s route with staff if you need step-free access.
