Media speculation linking Liverpool to Manchester City’s want away midfielder Yaya Toure have been dismissed by both clubs with City maintaining that the player is going nowhere.
A number of red tops have reported that Toure was being watched by both Liverpool and Chelsea after Le Parisian quoted an unnamed Ivory Coast teammate saying: “He has accumulated too many grudges against [Manchester City’s] leaders and he will not stay with them.
“He will do everything to ensure his departure this summer.”
Liverpool never comment on media speculation but a source close to the club said there was no basis in the story. A Man City source simply replied: “rubbish”.
