The Whitby Park Friends and Whitby Hall Theatre are inviting families in the area to take part in an afternoon of Easter fun as part of the Ellesmere Port Arts Festival.

The free annual Easter Egg trail returns with a twist, as children will this year hunt out Art in the Park. The event, taking place on Saturday, 19th April, between 1pm and 3pm will see families searching high and low for colourful peace posters, designed and decorated by children from local primary schools.

Everyone is invited to come and enjoy a great family day out where you can explore one of Ellesmere Port’s most scenic spots! With face painting, a giant walk-in colouring book and arts and crafts inside Whitby Hall your little ones will look the part as they go hunting for the posters in the park! There will also be free, guided tours of the magnificent Whitby Hall for any curious families.

Youngsters who complete the trail will receive a certificate and five lucky winners will be drawn from all completed entries at the end of the event to win an Easter egg.

Kathy Lord, chairman of the Friends of Whitby Park, said: “We’re inviting local families, with children of all ages, to come along to this free event and celebrate Easter and the final days of the Port Arts Festival. The event not only offers an afternoon of fun but is a great way for families to explore the park and Whitby Hall and see what it has to offer.”

The day coincides with the increasingly popular monthly Whitby Hall Family Film Club, which will go ahead as usual, starting at 2pm. The Family Film Club, on the 3rd Saturday of every month, is a totally free event where local families enjoy Disney classics and cartoon capers with some pop-corn and giant bean bags.
