People are being encouraged to share their views on ambitious multi-million-pound proposals for an enhanced leisure centre in Congleton.

This will form part of wider investment by Cheshire East Council of up to £100m in the town’s infrastructure and community facilities.

A survey is being undertaken to get local people’s views on the outline proposal, asking them, for example, what enhanced leisure facilities and other services they would like to see on the site of the leisure centre.

Users and residents are being encouraged to fill in a short questionnaire – which is available online or as printed forms at local libraries and Council offices – to share their views.

This information will then be used to help Cheshire East undertake a feasibility study to help decide what extra services the enhanced leisure centre could provide to meet the needs and aspirations of Congleton.

If a new lifestyle centre is approved, a further consultation on the options will be conducted next year.

The questionnaire is available at Congleton Library and online via the Council website at: www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/congletonlifestyle
