Sandbach-based Scotts Hire has picked up the award for Best Safety Innovation in the UK Energy Innovation Awards for its DigaDoc invention.
Developed to tackle the number of incidents and ‘near misses’ in mini excavator transportation, the DigaDoc has been created to allow safe loading, as an efficient towing solution for compact plant.

The trailer has been developed to enable optimum weight distribution via the digger’s forced position on the trailer, with a larger-than-average trailer bed to accommodate attachments.

The product’s success has led to the creation of a separate company, DigaDoc Limited, which will focus purely on taking this innovation to market.

Commenting on the award, Josh Smithson, a director at DigaDoc Limited, said: “It’s amazing to achieve this sort of recognition for a product we have such confidence in and increases the validity of our claims about the benefits of the trailer.

“There seems to be a lot of interest in the product and things should be progressing significantly in the next six months.”
