Having already secured the signature of Rickie Lambert at the start of the transfer window, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has set his sights on the Lille striker Divock Origi.
The 19-year-old who is currently playing for Belgium in the World Cup is also a target of Chelsea.

However, reports suggest that Liverpool are in the driving seat having offered £10 million for the player and agreed to loan him back to Lille for a season so he can be guaranteed playing time.

The suspension of Luis Suarez may change that, but it seems to be a key part of the reason that the French club have agreed to let him go.

Origi himself is keen to play in the Premier League having told the Daily Mail of his desire to play in England prior to the World Cup.

“As a little boy I always dreamed of playing in the Premier League,” said Origi.

“But I’m still young and now I’m in an important tournament so I’m trying to focus on the team. Then my entourage will see with Lille what I will do.”
