Everton have joined the chase to sign Leeds United's Sam Byram in the close season.
David Moyes is stepping up his pursuit of the young right-back. The position has long been seen by the Everton boss as a problem for the team – although the Goodison boss signed 18-year-old full-back John Stones as one for the future in January.
Moyes made a personal check on Byram in the last transfer window and knows he is fighting several Premier League clubs, including Mersey rivals Liverpool, over the youngster's signature.
Byram would be interested in the move to the top flight if Leeds decide to cash-in during the summer.
