Farming magazine Farmers Guardian has teamed up with retailer Morrisons, to launch 24 Hours in Farming: Tell Your Story.
24 Hours in Farming is the UK agricultural industry’s flagship online event, last year achieving an audience reach of 112 million and trending in the top five on Twitter all day.
Starting at 5am on 10th August until 5am on 11th August, farmers and those working within the wider agricultural industry will take to all social media platforms to showcase what they do in a normal working day. The aim is to show consumers just how much passion and commitment goes into producing the food they eat.
Sponsored by Morrisons for the first time, the aim is for 24 Hours in Farming to reach even more people this year with the industry also speaking directly to the public about their work. Farmers and farming businesses are being encouraged to host an on-farm event, give a talk to a local group or speak to the press.
Farmers Guardian Editor Ben Briggs says: “UK agriculture has a fantastic story to tell and 24 Hours in Farming allows everyone to shout about the industry and why they are so proud to work within it. It has become the go-to event within agriculture’s social media calendar and we want as many people as possible to be involved again in 2017. We believe with Morrisons on-board, the 2017 event will be even bigger and better.”
