Joe Hart, the out of favour Manchester City goalkeeper, will be Liverpool’s top target in the summer after Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp finally accepted that the position needs strengthening.
The club held talks with Manchester City about signing Hart on deadline day, and although these were exploratory the player’s representatives indicated that he would be keen to join the club. Further contact has been made since, though Liverpool may find Chelsea ready to launch a rival bid.
Hart is currently on loan at Torino, but despite enjoying the Italian lifestyle, the No 1 is keen to return to the Premier League.
Hart was shown the door by Pep Guardiola in the summer and was replaced by Claudio Bravo, who has failed to impress City fans and was recently dropped.
Klopp appears to have finally lost patience with Simon Mignolet who fans blame for a seies of errors against Chelsea and Hull that have cost points.
