Police Commissioner mulls rate rise

Police and Crime Commissioner David Keane has thankesd the public for their input and views into a three-week long consultation on police funding in Cheshire.

“I would like to thank everyone who took the time to join the conversation, whether this was through the online survey, via social media, e-mail, or by attending one of the public consultation events I held in each of the local council areas,” he said.

“I have been delighted with the level of interest shown by our communities with well over 1000 online responses from individuals and businesses being added to hundreds of comments and conversations across the board.

“Given the level of interest I have not been able to respond to all comments individually but please be assured that work is now underway to analyse the results of the consultation and all the views that I have received will be added to results of the survey.”

The next step is agreeing a budget and making a decision on the level of the policing precept that will then be presented to the Police & Crime Panel on 3 February.
