The awards, run by School Travel Organiser Magazine, recognise excellence and innovation to learning outside of the classroom.

Some 17 awards were made to recognise the amazing schools, inspiring people that champion learning outside of the classroom, best venues, attractions and companies as voted for by readers of School Travel Organiser magazine.

Jenn McDonough, general manager at Sea Life Manchester said: “We pride ourselves on the activities and workshops we offer to different key stage pupils coming to Sea Life Manchester.

“We aim to educate and inspire children, combining learning all about the fascinating sea creatures, with having fun.

“It’s great to see that we’ve been recognised for that, not only here but across all of the Sea Life centres and we thank School Travel Organiser for seeing the fantastic learning we offer as part of the national curriculum.”

Publisher of School Travel Organiser magazine, Rob Yandell, said: “These awards are truly unique in acknowledging the tremendous contribution made to pupils’ overall learning experience at both primary and secondary level by people, places and experiences outside of the classroom.”
