How to keep yourself looking fresh this Black Friday

Using an anti-fizz serum on your hair, wearing a good makeup primer and avoiding lipstick are just some of the top tips on keeping yourself looking fresh during Black Friday.

That’s according to the experts from online hair and beauty retailer Hairtrade.com, who have come up with ten pointers on how to remain looking pristine through the busy morning sales.

Other tips include carrying a miniature deodorant in your handbag, going for a hairstyle that won’t fall out and wearing extra hold hairspray to seal your hair in place.

Wearing caffeinated eye cream, building foundation in light layers and setting your makeup with powder and setting spray are also mentioned.

Joanne Dodds from Hairtrade.com said: “Black Friday consists of early morning queues, mad dashes around the shopping aisles and fighting over deals.

“If you are obsessed with having pristine hair and makeup the last thing you want is any of these factors ruining your look for the day.

“But by following our top ten tips, you can keep yourself looking beautiful throughout Black Friday.”

Prevent your hair from frizzing
Anti-frizz products are definitely needed to prep your hair for the Black Friday madness. Whether you’re sweating around the aisles, or queuing in the rain outside, there are a number of factors that can cause little hairs to escape. If you don’t have anti-frizz try spraying a little spritz of hairspray onto a fine-tooth comb and brush through the hair.

Wear an good makeup primer
Running around the shops trying to get the best bargains will inevitably wear-off your usually pristine makeup. The trick is to invest in a great primer to use after you have exfoliated and moisturised, right before you put your foundation on. This will lock your foundation in place to prevent it from wearing away.

Don’t bother with lipstick
If you are a lipstick lover, the only day out of the year where you should not wear it is certainly Black Friday. Lipstick will only smudge and re-applying it will waste precious bargain-grabbing minutes. Instead, opt for a lip balm or if you insist on lipstick, wear a liquid-matte one, as these are far more long lasting than usual ones.

Take a miniature deodorant in your handbag
Fighting someone for the last telly or running to beat another person to an item will definitely leave you a little sweaty and possibly a little smelly. A great trick is to carry a miniature deodorant in your bag so you can give yourself a little spritz whilst you’re shopping. If you have enough room in your bag for another product, carry a miniature perfume too.

Go for a hair look that won’t fall out
Black Friday shopping is not the best occasion to curl or straighten your hair. Good hairstyles for Black Friday are ones that keep your hair out of your face. Try a sleek ponytail or braids. If you have short hair a great idea is to wear a headband to prevent hair from getting in your face and sticking to your forehead.

Wear lots of hairspray
After choosing a hair look that keeps your hair away from your face, avoid lockets of hair falling out your hairstyle by spraying your hair into place with an extra-hold hairspray. This will also prevent bad weather and sweat from affecting your perfect hairstyle.

Wear eye cream
The early morning Black Friday queues will no doubt leave you with some large under eye bags. Solve this and give your eyes a much-needed lift by wearing a caffeinated eye cream to wake up that sleepy face of yours.

Build your foundation in light layers
To make your foundation last whilst you’re shopping for the deals, build up the coverage in light layers rather than caking it on all in one go. The light layers will give a more natural look and will survive far longer than one thick layer.

Set your foundation
Always remember to set your foundation with powder. A long-lasting, matte powder will work perfectly when setting your face. A great way to set both your foundation and powder is by spritzing a little makeup setting spray. This will make sure the makeup products on your face last through the chaotic rush of bargain grabbing.
Don’t touch your face!
No matter how stressful Black Friday is for you, always avoid touching your face, as this will only wear your makeup off. Touching your shopping products from the sales and then your face will also cause unnecessary breakouts too. If you are prone to doing it when stressed or in a mad rush, carry a small sanitizer with you during your Black Friday shopping marathon.
