O'Donnell leaves Macclesfield

Macclesfield's on-loan goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell has returned to Sheffield Wednesday.

The 23-year-old joined the Silkmen on an emergency loan after injuries to both Jose Veiga and Steve Collis.

O'Donnell made 11 appearances for Town, drawing the first five games. His last match between the sticks was the 1-0 away defeat to Port Vale on 9 April.

Elsewhere, Macclesfield have announced that youngster James Bolton has signed a two-year professional contract with the club.

A statement read: "The Silkmen are delighted to have secured the signature of a promising young centre back who has featured in ten of the club's 11 reserve games this season and has even attracted serious interest from the Premier League."
