The 19-year-old Arsenal attacker Chuks Aneke is coming to the end of a near-season-long loan at Gresty Road during which he has racked up more than 40 appearances, but it might not end there as Crewe are trying to extend his loan deal for another year
The England youth international has already experienced many of the highs and lows of senior football, from being sent off and losing his place in the team to scoring important goals and lifting a trophy at Wembley.
Aneke says he has enjoyed his time at Crewe saying: “The experience I’ve gained from coming here would do a lot of players in my position the world of good.
“I’ve come in and had a good season of football and that’s priceless, a lot (at Arsenal) would kill for that.”
Aneke arrived in South Cheshire in September and has been praised by boss Steve Davis on a number of occasions.
Crewe will try to keep Aneke another season as Davis builds his young squad with mostly loan signings this summer.
