An organised crime gang from Runcorn have been sentenced to more than 50 years for conspiracy to supply Class B drugs across the town.
A total of 28 men and two juveniles have been convicted as part of Operation Gram resulting in custodial sentences ranging from 6 months to 5 years.
The final 15, who are the main offenders, have been sentenced at Chester Crown Court. They had all pleaded guilty.
Operation Gram is the biggest that Cheshire Police has ever carried out in relation to Cannabis. It was run by Runcorn Neighbourhood Policing Unit over a period of 18 months. The operation was launched following concerns raised by the local community − residents had reported issues with suspected drug use and supply within the local area.
Operation Gram reached its climax in September 2012 when a series of dawn raids were carried out across the town and a number of arrests were made.
